THE EQUIPMENT

To make a painting, we first decide on the approach and the tools needed. We use different tools including soft, hard and medium brushes and may also use knives of many different sizes and styles. We use charcoal to make the drawing, then mix odorless thinner with oil to make a soft and fast drying background. Another product that we use is bleached or drying linseed oil. Through the use of these tools, we produce a good quality of work.

The canvas we choose depends on the type of work we are going to make. For example, if we are painting a portrait, we select a smoooth canvas and if we are painting a landscape we choose a rough canvas. Therefore, if we make a good selection on the type of canvas the work comes out better. To finish up we add varnish to protect the painting and give it quality look.
